Obviously, I agree. Of course, in the short term, practicing nothing but plays will yield better results. It will also make you look like a better coach because most people only see games and judge a coach by his or her team's organization. However, long term, this stifles player development, not to mention enjoyment. Unfortunately, the former PE teacher expresses a popular sentiment and one which we must continue to argue against to dispel this myth of plays over everything else. Nice work. Obviously, I agree.
